The League Management Company has pronounced some heavy sanctions on Heartland FC as a result of the post-match rancour which took place after the game against FC Ifeanyi Ubah.
In series of tweets Thursday morning, the league body noted that “Heartland has been charged for failing to ensure adequate security & crowd control during their #NPFL MD28 game vs FC Ifeanyiubah”.
LMC announced that the Naze Millionaires would play their next three home games behind closed doors, starting from the game against Nasarawa United which is scheduled for 7th August, 2016.
LMC also stated that “a fine of N1m & a 2-point deduction is placed on Heartland for hindering the complete video coverage of the match vs FC Ifeanyiubah.
” The 2-point deduction on Heartland shall be suspended subject to a probationary period for the rest of the #NPFL season.
” Heartland will also pay a compensation of N1.25m, being N250k each for the assaulted match officials & match commissioner.
” Heartland shall also forfeit the 1-point from the game vs FC Ifeanyiubah for gravity of incident & the club’s complicity.
” The 1-point deduction shall be suspended subject to a probationary period for the rest of the #NPFL season.
” Heartland will bear the costs of damages to FC Ifeanyiubah bus & for injuries sustained by its players/officials.
” Heartland has not later than Friday, 29th July 2016 to appeal in which case if its appeal fails could attract further sanctions.”
