Authoritative English newspaper The Guardian has rated former Golden Eaglets midfielder Kingsley Dogo Michael as one of the best 60 young talents in world football, according to reports monitored by papilonews.com
Still only 17, Kingsley plays for Football College Abuja and wore the number 6 shirt when the Golden Eaglets went all the way to the gold medal at Chile 2015 FIFA U17 World Youth Championship. He scored a goal in the quarter final as Nigeria beat Brazil 3-0.
This is what the Guardian said about the lad:
“A product of Football College Abuja – established in 2012 by the Croatian Damir Miskovic – Michael is a defensive midfielder in the mould of Claude Makélélé who has also interested West Ham and Chelsea after making five appearances at last year’s Under-17 World Cup. But, according to his father, his career almost didn’t get started at all. “At the start, I never wanted him to play football, I wanted him to go to the Academy and become a military man,” added Dogo. ”But when he was in primary school, they always tipped him to become as successful as Nwankwo Kanu and Emmanuel Amunike.”
