Tony Edjomariegwe Wins Third MOTM Award In Straight Games

Rejuvenated Super Eagles winger Tony Edjomariegwe proved to be the best player on the pitch in a third straight game for Morrocan Bolota league club Olympic Club du Safi in Sunday’s clash with second placed Raja Casablanca at the Stade El Massira in Safi.

After a slow start to the season when he found himself frozen out of the team, the former Kano Pillars wing wizard is like a man on fire, posting impressive displays, goals and assists and has been named Man of The Match by Safi officials in the last three games.

“At the beginning of the season things did not go as we planned,” Tony’s intermediary Barrister Johnny Precious Ogbah revealed to “Neither he nor I could understand why he was being benched and so I flew into Morocco in January and met with the club and when I couldn’t get a reasonable response from them I decided to get him a loan stint elsewhere.

” In fact, Tony almost left for a loan stint in Jordan in January but the deal fell through at the last moment. But in the past month he’s been given a chance and he’s taking it with both hands and I am sure Safi will be asking themselves why they haven’t been playing him before now.

“I fight for my players. I told Safi, ‘that’s a Nigerian international. You need to play him or you will lose him.’ I am happy they are playing him now  but I bet they are happier that me because he is being turning games around for them since they gave him a regular run,” concluded Barrister Ogbah who also manages Chisom Chikatara and Ugonna Uzochukwu who both play n the Bolota league for WAC and Khouribga respectively.
