Abia Warriors, in its bid to fortify the squad going into the second stanza of the Nigeria Professional League (NPFL), has secured the services of former Heartland FC midfielder, Arinze Nwangwu. Arinze who once featured for El-Kanemi Warriors and had a brief stint with Enyimba FC has, on his part, said he is eager to make his mark with the Umahia based side and help the club in reaching its targets this season in the NPFL and Federation Cup.
“I have come here to contribute my quota to make sure Abia Warriors meet its objective at the end of the season,” Arinze said. “Abia Warriors is a decent side and they are also ambitious which is the main reason why I came over. I will like to achieve great things with the club and make sure we, at least, get a continental ticket by the end of the season.”
The Jos-born lanky midfielder inspired his new side to lift the Abia State FA Cup, beating Enyimba FC in the final through penalty shoot-out after sharing the spoils in regulation time.
The second part of the NPFL will resume by 27th May, 2017 as Abia Warriors led by Coach Abdullahi Biffo will take a road trip to Bauchi to trade tackles with Wikki Tourists, a game Arinze will hope to make his first league appearance for Abia Warriors.
