Super Eagles coach Rohr accused of favouritism in team selection

Following allegations of favouritism in team selection leveled against Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr by Super Eagles midfielder Nosa Igiebor, another player has accused the manager of the same thing, according to Owngoalnigeria.com.

Nosa claimed to have been benched for ‎players he is better than in the World Cup 2018 Qualifiers against Zambia in Ndola which Nigeria won 2-1.

Another player who has also suffered same fate has backed Igiebor for his brave stand, as he too suffered the same fate ‎with the Super Eagles under the German coach.

“Nosa is correct in pointing it out, but maybe he did it at the wrong time. To be honest some players are his favourite. You see him speak with them on a regular while others like me and four other players he rarely speaks with us”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com on the condition of anonymity.

“I know it’s normal for a coach to have some players he is close to but it shouldn’t be so glaring. A lot of us feel he is not carrying us along, but we can’t speak out now because the team is doing well. At the appropriate time, we will spill the beans.”
