Awoniyi’s fine form continue as he hits the target again in Holland

On loan Liverpool ‎Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi was once again on target for Dutch side NEC Nijmegen powering them to a 2-0 win over SC Heerenveen in the Eredivisie.

NEC Nijmegen were 1-0 up courtesy of a goal from Dutch-Nigerian forward Arnold Danjuma Groenveld before Awoniyi powered home a fierce header to hand them a 2-0 win in the 64th minute.‎

Awoniyi emerged as the match winner for his team last weekend after coming on as a substitute, and same routine happened again as he headed home the second goal for his side after coming on as a 55th minute substitute.

He almost scored again in the 87th minute but his low shot was defected out for a corner kick by the goalkeeper of Heerenveen as NEC Nijmegen pushed for another goal.

His new found form in front of goal will no doubt gladden the heart of the Liverpool decision makers, as he is finally showing the sort of form that made them splash big on him two summers ago.

It has taken him a while to get going in the Netherlands, in what his second loan spell after a not too happy time with German second division side FSV Frankfurt, but he has enjoyed a new lease of life under new manager Ron de Groot.
