CHAN Super Eagles revelation, Chisom Chikatara has reportedly been blocked to join Portuguese side Belenenses on a lucrative loan deal. reasons being that Wydad Atletic Club (WAC) wants him to stay in order to help them continue their impressive push for continental glory and also play profound role in next season’s league campaign.
The former Abia Warriors poster boy, however, pledged allegiance to his side by waving away the lucrative deal after the exit of one of WAC top striker, William Jebour.
Chikatara joined the Moroccan heavyweight after an impressive showing at the last CHAN tournament in Rwanda under the tutelage of then Super Eagles gaffer, Sunday Oliseh.
WAC are currently in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions league and are also eager to lift the Bolata league which happens to be the premier league of Moroccan football.
WAC on their part were eager to keep the Nigerian forward considering the fact that last season’s top scorer William Jebour has moved to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
Sources close to the Moroccan outfit revealed that they believe Chikatara has a lot it offer next season, so letting him go was not in their priority.
