FC Ifeanyi Ubah goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa has been given the task to man the post in the imminent World Cup qualifier against the indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
Super Eagles’ gaffer, Gernot Rohr made this known to journalists in the pre-match conference held at the Ibom Meridian hotel, Uyo.
”We have the boy from Nigeria – Ezenwa – available for the game and I believe in his ability. He has done well with the CHAN team and I believe he can do more. His teammates will cover up for him very well and all he needs from the fans is their support on that day,” said Rohr.
Nigeria go into this double-header with 6 points at hand having gained maximum points from Zambia and Algeria in the initial games.
Meanwhile, they are followed by Cameroon who have managed to get 2 points from two games.
When asked how it feels to be selected to face the African champions, Ezenwa had this to say:
”It is going to be a very tough game but I am confident in myself because for two years I have been with the team and I have under studied Carl Ikeme and Daniel Akpeyi, so I feel I have learnt a lot that is why the coach has confidence in me.”
