Papilo FC Ivorian import, Kouassi Koffi accomplished a brace in quick succession to give his side an equalizer and take the lead in the first half, but the Owerri based side was not able to pick maximum points at the end of the day.

Delta Force who are currently 4th on the log drew the first blood in the encounter before bullish attacker Kouassi equalized and completed his brace just minutes after netting the first goal.

The visitors left it late to equalize, thereby forcing Papilo FC to a stalemate at the Dan Anyiam stadoium, Owerri.

Speaking to www.papilonews.com after the game, Kouassi noted that despite the brace, he is not out to celebrate after his side failed to win.

“Yes, I scored two goals but the feeling is underwhelming because my team drew and their equalizer came at a painful period. We have worked hard to be at this point and every game counts because we don’t want to go lower than this,” said Kouassi.

The Ivorian joined Papilo FC in the second stanza of the season and have scored 6 goals in 7 matches.

According to him, it’s the pressure of leaving one’s comfort zone that makes him works hard to achieve such impressive feats.

He stated: “I left my country to play here because I wanted to be far from home and such situation gives me the drive to score goals and help the team because my career is at stake.”

Papilo FC maintain the 11th position on the log of the Nigeria National League (NNL) Southern Conference and are billed to trade tackles with Crown FC in their next game, this weekend.
