Coach Ramson Madu has successfully return Heartland to elite football league in Nigeria after a 1-0 win at the Agege stadium against First Bank Sport Club in a second tier game on Wednesday.
The Naze Millionaires confirmed their spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) from the Nigeria National League (NNL). The promotion came on the backdrop of the away win against First Bank in Agege after Okoro Ndukwe scored the winning goal in a tense game at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.
Elsewhere, a victory for Bayelsa United over Owerri based side, Papilo FC takes them to the second place on the log after Gabriel Adeboye solitary strike made sure they get hold of the maximum point.
Bayelsa United will be contesting the second promotion slot against Go-Round FC and Delta Force who are on the trail in the contest.
However, Go-Round FC lost at the Rojenny Sport Complex, Oba after the game ended 2-1 in favour of Nnewi United.
Delta Force now occupy the 3rd place after a 1-0 win over Ikorodu United and are also in fierce contest for a promotion spot.
The remaining spot for the NPFL will be occupied by any of the these clubs: Bayelsa United, Go-Round FC and Delta Force. Already Kwara United, and Yobe Desert Stars have been promoted to the NPFL next season from the Northern Conference of the NNL.
